Week of idlis

Sunday - 12/20/09 - Idli and Eggplant /Tomato Kolambu with Pan fried Cod

I made mini idlis for my daughter and regular sized idlis for us.

For the Fish, I used paprika, lemon juice, grated Garlic, salt and oil as marinade. Since there is lemon juice involved, just 5 minutes of marinating will do. For my daughter, the fish has nothing but salt!

Here is the recipe for the Eggplant/Tomato Kolambu.

Saturday - 12/19/09 - Leftovers

Friday - 12/18/09 - Idli and Eggplant/Carrot Sambar

Thursday - 12/17/09 - Dosai, Cauliflower Kolambu and Podi Saadham

Has some leftover rice. So I sauteed some onions in oil and mixed it with paruppu podi and rice, with coriander leaves.

The curry, we call it "molagu aracha Kolambu" . The regular version is without cauliflower. But I had to add some veggies to it. Here is the recipe for "Molagu Aracha Kolambu".

Since there was no protein here, I boiled eggs.

Artichoke Pesto Pasta and Orange Chicken Drumsticks

My official first entry of the blog!

Today's Dinner. Was just me and my daughter. And I made Artichoke pesto pasta and Orange Chicken Drumsticks. The pesto I had already made on the weekend. So decided to make pasta with it. My daughter loves Orange chicken from Panda Express and she wanted a homemade version of it.

Artichoke pesto recipe

Artichoke, basil leaves, pine nuts, Garlic, Olive oil and Water. (I try to make a low fat version. So I omit the parmesan cheese and use just 3 Tbsp of olive oil and add water to achieve the desired consistency). And we use Brown Rice Pasta at home.

Chicken Drumsticks

Marinade has Orange juice, Orange Zest, Soy Sauce, Honey, Chilli Powder and Garlic and salt. Mix all Ingredients. Marinate the Chicken for 30 mins, bake in 425 degrees oven for 30 mins.

Start!

I am starting this blog in hopes of recording what I make for dinner everynite. So when I need some ideas someday (which is most of the days) I can look back. Thats it. Nothing much.
